WYOMING STUD

Codrilla Station is a 31,000 acre property located 155 kms south-west of Mackay and just 55 kms from Nebo on the Central Highlands.   It is a fully developed property running approximately 4,000 head of cattle, of which approximately 500 are registered Romagnolas.

Wyoming Romagnola Stud was established in the early 1990's, and today has an excellent herd of registered full blood cattle and a larger number of registered upgraded Romagnolas.   The full blood herd contain both "new" and "old" genetics direct from Italy.   It is possible the Wyoming Romagnola herds have the most diverse range of imported bloodlines and is Australia's largest breeder of registered Romagnola cattle.

The upgraded herds have been developed from an excellent herd of Brahman cattle.   Comments from many astute Australian cattlepeople have been along the lines that the registered herd may well excel beyond the present standard of the full blood cattle now available in Australia.   This is only natural to expect that Australian cattlemen would develop and mould a beast to suit our environment.

Throughout the 1990's an extensive embryo transfer program was undertaken in our full blood herds to increase our stud numbers and gain superior genetics.   Our full blood bloodlines are derived from sires such as Adige, Ande, Bulgaro, Caronte, Calore, Cesare, Dingo, Ergum, Elisir, Cloverdale Rajah, Italia Padrone, Italia Pronto, Italia Romano, Orlone, Orlando, Scottish Caesar, Shannonbourne Ironman, Seymour Grekez Thiess, Wyoming Thompson, Wyoming Urie and Wyoming Vincente.

Our upgraded herds have been developed by natural matings.   The sires used in these herds have included, Cloverdale Paulo, Italia Romano, Lancefield Alberto, Ottley Hector, Ottley Jif, Ottley Montezuma, Romulus Orlone Luca, Romulus Quartermaster, Seymour Grekez Thiess, Wyoming Senator, Wyoming Timon, Wyoming Ulysses and Wyoming Veronona.
